MOH in Town!

So my Maid of Honor was in town this week and just left....so sad :( I will miss her so much! But we got the dress shopping out of the way so that is a relief. We found her a gorgeous dress and I bought my dress too which was a little unexpected since our wedding is still 11 months away. But more on that to come later...

Custom Stationery by Chris

This is is the style we are going for but replacing the pink with yellow tones

I am a complete sucker for all forms of stationery but when it comes to my wedding...my invites, save the dates, and thank you notes have to be on point. That's why I have hired the best I know to handle this customization....Chris! He will be putting that graphic design degree to use for his ultimate wedding project. Sticking with our nautical theme we are using the following picture as inspiration but will work together to make it feel more like us. We will also incorporate our nautical themed engagement pictures taken at Disney. I think all of our wedding stationery will be one of the things that sets our wedding apart from others. I just think it is so cool that Chris is doing all of this himself...I am marrying myself a D.I.Y. Man!

Location, Location, Location

Well we knew when we decided the wedding would be at Disney World that if we were doing the Escape package SeaBreeze Pointe would be our ceremony venue for sure. It doesn't look like much at first because it is a little tucked away on the Boardwalk. But once you actually step inside this gazebo like structure something happens. At least to me...lol...maybe because every time I step foot in the place I think about my wedding but anyway....I get this feeling that it just takes me away from reality. Yes there are still people around and boats sailing along but I don't hear any of that I just experience total relaxation. It's like it has a calming effect on people. The view is gorgeous and the background includes a beach, three Disney Resorts, a light house, and a lake. What more could a girl ask for? Oh ya my prince  charming of course. But that's already been handled. Anyway this location also inspired the nautical theme Chris and I envisioned for the wedding after deciding on our location. I am so in love with our theme right now. It is so different and I think the vintage flair we are adding to it will just be so different and not in a cheesy way just a very cool unique wedding that fits the two of us. I will be sure to post my inspiration for you all to envision things a little better!

Welcome YALL!

Welcome to my new wedding and marriage blog!
I decided to create this blog to let friends and family in on all the planning and prep going in to my upcoming wedding…and I can’t lie I also decided to do this for myself so I never forget all the stress that went into this big day years from now. I’m kidding. I’m one of those crazies that love to plan. I love planning so much that i’m one of those brides…actually probably the only bride that isn’t upset when wedding details can’t work out the way I want them to so that I can plan around this change AGAIN! I know what your thinking and I don’t blame you.
I will quit my useless babbling…so here’s the lowdown Chris and I (pictured above) met my freshman year of college at Reinhardt University. We were just friends at the time and hung out all the time in big groups of friends. But long story short I started to notice what a great guy he was and how much he cared about me and I found myself caring about him more and more everyday until we officially started dating. I knew on our first official date as a couple that he was the one. And I know most people don’t believe you could know something like that on the first date.
But I did. This date was the worst date of my life. He took me to see my first baseball game at Turner Field on opening day in April. Everything that could go wrong did…we missed part of the game due to traffic…and of course while stuck in traffic ran out of gas. Then when we finally got to the stadium and found our seats it started randomly storming…this storm turned into a tornado with waves of hail. Awesome I know. But sitting there watching the game with him I thought to myself that if we could get through that together and just laugh it off…we could get through anything. And we have been through a lot for sure.
I love everything about him. I love how well he gets along with my family..he honestly fits right in with us weirdos. I love his carefree spirit and his it’s just us against the world attitude. I love how he is the only one that can calm me down when i’m sick or stressed. I love how much I learn from him…he is constantly filling me in on useless facts and trivia. I love what a team we are and how he wants to include me in on everything in his life. I love the lowdown I get on his day at work when he comes home. I love how talented he is and when he plays guitar, cooks for me, and beats my butt on the golf course. I could go on forever.
I loved his proposal even though others may not understand it. But to me it was hilarious. You have to understand our christmas traditions though. Every year we give each other items we left at the others place. Like clothes, books, etc. Well he wrapped a huge laundry basket of clothes I left over with the disney wedding planning book I asked for for xmas at the bottom. I was excited enough about the book at that point but when I opened it up to look I saw that he had cut an area out of the book to hide my ring. A ring he designed himself. Let me tell you it’s perfect in every way.
So anyway…here we are and we are getting married! Yay! keep checking in with me to follow our wedding plans :)
